UC Davis Hoping to Build on 2021 Season
Mikaela Garcia — September 1, 2021

Upon returning to the field after their 2020 season was cut short, the University of California, Davis Women’s Lacrosse team had a successful 2021 season.
The Aggies ended the season with a 12-4 overall record and won the first MPSF championship in school history.
Head Coach Suzanne Isidor has used her on and off the field experiences to help lead her UC Davis program to success.
“I learned what works and what doesn’t work. It is very valuable work, and I have great administration, assistants, and players whom I’ve learned from as well,” said Isidor about her previous coaching experiences at Drew and Penn State.
When reflecting on the 2021 season, Isidor talked about the everyday struggles and sacrifices she and her team faced that were amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Aggies had delayed practices from California fires and COVID-19 protocol, while also being tested three times a week during the season.
However, the challenges did not stop them. Isidor could not be more proud of the hard work and determination her team showed during the year.
“One of the most special of all my years as a coach. That group did everything they needed to be successful and to be able to enjoy the success was great to see as a coach,” said Isidor.

Now with most schools returning for the fall, preparations are being made for the 2022 season and goals are being set.
“Our goal is to be the best that we can be in each game. Winning is the ultimate goal, but really focusing on what it takes to win and how hard you have to work while still having fun,” said Isidor.
2021 All-MPSF Team and MPSF Offensive Player of the Week (4/19/21) Kendall Seifert, shared similar thoughts as her coach. She is proud of the teamwork skills everyone developed in order to be able to play to each other’s strengths and is excited for the 2022 season.
“I expect that our team will continue to build off of all the hard work we put in last season and win games that we fell short on,” said Seifert.
